We all invest our time and money into various activities, items, and experiences such as daily coffee, gym memberships, clothes, food, etc. Mental health treatment is another investment. It is a personal long-term investment in yourself. Too many people neglect their own needs and mental health. Why not make an investment in you? You are worth investing in. Therapy is a personal long-term relationship where you can work on yourself, learn how to improve your own relationships, understand solutions to specific problems, and experience reductions in feelings of distress.
To ensure the highest standard of confidentiality and provide the most flexible treatment options, Dr. Arevalo is a fee-for-service provider. This means that he is considered an “out-of-network” provider and your work together would be considered “private pay.” He is not paneled with any insurance company. Session fees will be due in full at the time of each appointment.
Making the decision about whether or not to be paneled with insurance companies is personal to each clinician, and is usually a multi-faceted choice. First and foremost, Dr. Arevalo values your confidentiality above all else. Insurance companies can also request to see session notes and to know details of your confidential work together at any time if they are directly reimbursing for services. Additionally, insurance companies can choose which services to reimburse for and which services not to with very little explanation as to why.
It is important to note that many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits and partial reimbursement to cover services by providers who are not credentialed through insurance panels. If you are interested in working together, please take the time to contact your insurance company to find out what your out-of-network benefits are for individual psychotherapy. Dr. Arevalo is able to provide a “Super Bill” after each session. Super bills contain all the information necessary for a health insurance company to create a claim, which will allow you to be reimbursed. Every insurance plan will be different. He will provide you with a Super Bill so that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. If you are unsure about how much or how often your insurance can help, Dr. Arevalo is happy to help guide you through this process.
Although Dr. Arevalo is an "out-of-network" provider with insurance plans, he is a contracted partner with Lyra Health. If your company offers Lyra Health as a service, please let Dr. Arevalo know when you reach out.
